12 Days of Lifebook

lifebook lifebook premium Dec 13, 2022

Welcome to the 12 Days of Lifebook! 📕

Over the next 12 days, I'll be bringing you some insight on each of the 12 categories of Lifebook. We're going to have a lot of fun over the next 12 days as we explore the 12 categories of Lifebook!

I'm looking forward to sharing with you the power that Lifebook can have in designing + living the life you've always dreamed of!

Day 1 - Health & Fitness 💪🏼

The first category in the Lifebook process is the Health & Fitness category.

This one is an important one, because without our health, we can't possibly show up and be fully present in the other categories of our lives.

One of my favourite health + fitness quotes (which you will find in my Lifebook) is...

"If you don't make time for your wellness, you will be forced to make time for your illness."

It's a great quote that reminds me to look after myself so that I can live a life of quality.

Wanna see what a finished Lifebook category looks like?

I invite you to take a look at my own personal Health & Fitness category.

And can I just add here that when I say finished, I want to clarify that your Lifebook is never truly "finished". It is something that you will constantly refer to and it will grow as you do. It's one of the things I love about it!

And the format in which you can create your Lifebook is completely up to you. For me, I eventually settled on Notion

You can see what it looks like by clicking on the image below.

Day 2 - Intellectual Life 📘

The intellectual category explores those things that have to do with learning and expanding your mind.

Things like reading, your memory and cognitive abilities, the way you use logic and reasoning. Improving on these areas has a huge impact on the other categories of your life.

As we say in the Lifebook world is "A win anywhere is a win everywhere."

My Top 5 Picks

Today I'd like to share with you 5 life-changing books that have made a huge difference in my mindset and intellectual growth.

These books have helped me grow, think differently, and become a better version of myself.

The Desire Map: A Guide to Creating Goals With Soul, Danielle LaPorte

The Miracle Equation: The Two Decisions That Move Your Biggest Goals From Possible, to Probable, to Inevitable, Hal Elrod

The Code of the Extraordinary Mind: 10 Unconventional Laws to Redefine Your Life and Succeed on Your Own Terms, Visen Lakhiani

Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It, Kamal Ravikant

The Map: Finding The Magic and Meaning in the Story of Your Life, Colette Baron-Reid

Day 3 - Emotional Life 😄

In this category, we dig deep into how and what we want to feel. But ultimately, our goal is to feel good!

Head on over to YouTube and check out the video I made for you!

Day 4 - Character 😎

What traits and virtues do you want to have as a person?

What habits will you put in place to become the person you want to be? To achieve the dreams and goals you've set for yourself?

I love this category and to me it is one of the most important ones.

Okay, so they're all important, but this one is foundational in all that we do. Without the right character traits, how can we possibly achieve our Life Vision?

For instance, without self-discipline (which I'm still working hard on, by the way), how can I possibly create and actually DO the habits I need to get to where I want to go?

Building a strong character is essential in living your best life!

Today I'm sharing with you the pages of my very own Character category.

Simply click on the image below to check it out in my Notion workspace.

Day 5 - Spiritual Life 🧘🏻‍♀️

Spirituality can mean different things to different people. It can mean religion to some, or simply a connection to nature for others.

Spirituality is a very personal topic but one that is enlightening to explore.

Today, I'd like to share with you some things that can help support you on this journey.

1. Journal

A great tool to take on your spiritual journey is a guided journal. There are many choices out there, so find one that resonates with you and helps you dive deeper into your spirituality and what it means to you.

2. Diffuser

Set the scene with a diffuser and some essential oils as you get cozy in your time of reflection.

3. Meditation pillow

Speaking of cozy, a meditation pillow is the perfect addition to your space as you dive deeper into this aspect of your life.

Day 6 - Love Relationship 💖

This category is all about the relationship you have with your significant other. The one you have chosen to live your life with.

Today I invite to bring gratitude into your relationship. You could do this by writing a love note to your partner telling them how much they mean to you.

And why not plan some special time together as well. We all lead busy lives and sometimes we don't make time for what's truly important. So make a point to schedule a date together.

But what if you're not in a relationship or aren't looking for one?

Not everyone is in a relationship or is looking for one. And in today's society that can seem "wrong". But everyone needs to do what's right for themselves. That's what writing your Lifebook is all about.

So if you're in a situation where you're looking for someone, list out the character traits you'd like this person to have. And don't settle, but keep searching until you find "your person".

And if you're not looking for someone at this time in your life, that's okay too. We should all be able to live our lives in a way that is right for yourselves without feeling pressure from outside sources.

Day 7 - Parenting 🚸

I don't know about you, but parenting is both one of the hardest and most rewarding things I have ever done.

Having your Lifebook to clarify how you want this very important area of your life to look like is game changing! It is one of the best resources to refer to in times of struggle as you navigate parenting.

But you are not alone on this journey! There are numerous resources out there to help support you.

Check Facebook for parenting groups specific to your situation. In my case, groups aimed at step-moms was a big help when I first became a step-mother about 9 years ago.

Also check your local listings for in-person groups. Whether you're a new parent or a new empty nester, there are groups of all kinds to help you through your specific situation.

Also, here are a few of my favourite books on this topic:

The Awakened Family: How to Raise Empowered, Resilient, and Conscious Children, by Shefali Tsabary

The Happy Stepmother: Stay Sane, Empower Yourself, Thrive in Your New Family, by Rachelle Katz

How to Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk, Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish

Day 8 - Social Life 🥂

In the Lifebook world, the Social Life category includes those relationships you have that are outside of your immediate family.

There can be so many precious relationships outside of those with our partners and kids. It's important to know what we want those to look like, the kind of people we want to surround ourselves with, and how we want to feel in those relationships.

It's just as important to know what we don't want in our social life and it's critical to set boundaries so you can surround yourself with people who lift you up instead of bring you down.

Today I'm sharing with you my Social Life category of my Lifebook.

Day 9 - Financial Life 💰

Whether you're a Lifebooker or not, the financial category is most likely an important one for you.

It's one that I work on constantly and today I want to share some resources that have helped me on my journey to Financial Freedom.

Money, Manifesting + Multiple Streams of Income - An incredibly motivating + transforming e-course created by the wonderful Leonie Dawson.

Budget Planner by Alaina of The Organized Money - This budget planner helped me see my finances differently which was an eye-opener for me.

Rich Dad Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not!, by Robert T. Kiyosaki - A classic book with lots of great money tips.

There are tons of resources out there and depending on your specific financial goals, you're sure to find something helpful.

And knowing those specific goals is the best start to finding the resources that are best for you.

Day 10 - Career 💼

The career category is closely linked to the financial life category and, like most others, can look very different for everyone.

Someone's career might be focused in the corporate world, while a stay-at-home parent might focus on a home-based business to earn an income while raising their children.

And there are those who are in one world, like the corporate world, trying to transition to creating a business of their own in order to be location independent and have more freedom.

Know that whatever you see for yourself in this category, with the right mindset and resources, you can absolutely make it happen. So many possibilities exist!

In today's world, pretty much anything goes, if you are willing to put in the work and the effort to make it happen.

I want to share a few books with you today that you might want to consider checking out.

The Common Path to Uncommon Success: A Roadmap to Financial Freedom and Fulfillment, John Lee Dumas

The 4-Hour Workweek, Timothy Ferriss

Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World, Cal Newport

Align + Attract: Align Your Energy to Create a Business you Actually Love, Kerry Lee Rowett

We spend a great deal of our days in our careers, so choose something that lights you up!

Day 11 - Quality of Life 🏡

This is the category where we get to ask ourselves questions like:

  • Where do I want to live?
  • What do I want my home to look like?
  • What things do I want to own?
  • What experiences do I want to have?

You can dig deeper into this category with questions like:

  • What do I want my home to feel like? Peaceful? Cozy? Uncluttered?
  • Is my home filled with objects that bring me joy?
  • Are the spaces in my home conducive to the activities that are conducted there?

The goal here is to define the things and experiences you want to have that will make you feel like you are truly living your life how you want to live it.

Here are a few books I recommend to help you dig deeper into this category:

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing, Marie Kondo

Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less, Greg McKeown

The Happiness Project, Gretchen Rubin

This is the perfecl category to portray in images. Keeping a vision board or a vision book is a great way to have a visual record of what you want this category to look like for you.

This is what I do within my Lifebook and is probably the category in which I have the most images. It's a great feeling to see how I want the quality of my life to look and feel like and know that I can make it happen.

My Lifebook is my map to creating the life I want and anything is possible!

Day 12 - Life Vision 🧭

There are a number of different ways that you can define your Life Vision.

  1. Write out your "ideal day", in detail, by writing out what the perfect day for you would look like.
  2. Write out what your life would look like in 5 years from now. Where would you be living? Who would be in your life? What would you have?
  3. And, if you've written a Lifebook, you can gather all the Vision statements you defined within your Lifebook from the other 11 categories into one Vision statement.

Whatever way you choose, it's helpful to write it out as if it's already happening and to revisit it regularly. One way I like to do it is to record myself saying my Life Vision and then listening to it when I wake up in the morning and before going to sleep at night.

Your Life Vision is one of the most powerful things you can ever define. It's your North Star 🌟 to where you want to go and will be your guide in all that you do.

And now, it's time for presents! 🎁
